Here is an article by David Lowrence AL5X connecting a RA-40 interface to a YSF DR-1X repeater. Dave contacted me describing a modification he did to a RA-40 to allow it to revert a Yaesu System Fusion DR-1X repeater to local control if something AllStar or computer wise fails. If the computer or Raspberry Pi or radio interface fails, the DR-1X will revert to in-cabinet contol and continue to work. The DR-1X requires an open collector logic output of the correct logic direction in order to accomplish this. The RA-DR1XM needs no further modification, it's the result of the modification to the RA-40 shown in Dave's article.

In addition to the added transistor logic, one additional 3-pin configuration header allows selection of the original RA-40 revert logic. This allows the RA-DR1X to be configured identically to a RA-40. You don't lose any original RA-40 functionality with this interface, you only gain functionality to use it with the Yaesu DR-1X or DR-2X repeaters.

The DR-2X requires a slightly different wiring arrangement than what's shown in Dave's article. I don't have a complete DR-2X wiring detail. However, I believe the only difference is the following connections made to the HD15 connector:

DR-1X - Pins 10 and 11 are jumpered together and go to ground. I assume pin 12 is left unconnected.
DR-2X - Pins 10 and 12 are jumpered together and go to ground. I assume pin 11 is left unconnected.
